Blog 13: Lesson 2 Reflection

Content:

1. Positive Statement

What are you most proud of in your Lesson 2 Presentation and why?
I finally was able to talk about what mentor ship consists of, I didn't get the chance to do that in the first presentation and I'm really happy I got to do that.
2. Questions to Consider
       a.     What assessment would you give yourself on your Lesson 2 Presentation (self-assessment)?

       AE       P          AP       CR       NC

       b.     Explain why you deserve that grade using evidence from the Lesson 2 component contract.

I feel I did my best to do my presentation, I admit I had too much info to present on and it went on for too long, I honestly don't try to do that but this is my passion and I love what I'm doing, in fact I even piss of my girlfriend cause I talk about this topic too much. I also didn't do well on my activity but i will have to improve it when it comes time for the Final Presentation.

3. What worked for you in your Lesson 2?
Everything worked for me up to the time, I rambled on too much and I feel I need to stop doing that, let alone keep the answer more to the point.
4.  (What didn't work) If you had a time machine, what would you have done differently to improve your Lesson 2?
The Activity I really didn't have alot of time to explain it and I wish I got to explain it a bit more as it would have helped alot more if I did that
5. Finding Value
What do you think your answer #2 is going to be?
I haven't really thought of it but I am thinking one of the possible 2
1 being uses of robots
2 being algorithms etc.

6.  Whats the hardest part about working with robots or machines?

7. Is it possible to change a huge line of code and simplify it down to a smaller code but performs just as well as the original code, if so how, if not well then why not? ( IF statements LOL) http://arduino.cc/en/Reference/If

blog 11: Mentorship 10 hours

1.   Where are you doing your mentor ship?

I'm doing my  mentor ship at Cal Poly Pomona, I'm on a team of Engineering grad students working alongside Northrop Grumman. This project is a collaboration project that serves as an outreach program for job applications and experience.

2.   Who is your contact?

Ajay Bettadapura Aero Space , Ian Mcllraith Hardwear. etc (providing buisness card)

3.   How many total hours have you done (total hours should be reflected in your mentor ship log located on the right hand side of your blog like your WB)?

49 Hours and 50 min listed, but 52 hours and 50 min total.

4.   Summarize the 10 hours of service you did.

I've completed 10 hours this week so I am writing on that in particular, so this week my mentor introduced me to programing! On Monday I was ready to start working on the FPGA ( ), but Ian convinced Ajay that the FPGA would have to come later because of the difficulty of the programming. So with that being said I've spent my 10 hours working on this arduino board figuring out what to make it do and how to program it. My mentor wants me to be independent and find solutions on my own so he told me to figure this step of the process on my own.

5.   Email your house teacher the name of your contact and their phone number confirming who they should call to verify it.

Blog 10: Senior Project: The Holiday

1.  It is important to consistently work on your senior project, whether it is break or we are in school.  What did you over the break with your senior project?

- Over break my mentor went on vacation but before he left he told me to look into arduino . Arduino is a program that is to help you learn the basics of programming a control board of a uav or ugv. But all im working with so far are servos and cameras.

2.  What was the most important thing you learned from what you did and why?  What was the source of what you learned?

-How to program, EE's require a lot of knowledge about programming and having to integrate all the things I've learned from Arduino.cc . This site has so much information about the types of inputs and outputs for programming.

3.  If you were going to do a 10 question interview on questions related to answers of your EQ, who would you talk to and why?

- Im not sure if we can do this but Id like to ask a variety of people at my mentor ship due to the mass amounts of knowledge on these subjects. Ill be providing a business card for the teachers  with the names of the leaders that I am going to ask.
